Want to participate in the 2019 SXSW Film Festival? If you’ve got a title sequence to submit, you’re in the right place.

As part of the SXSW Film Design Awards, the Excellence in Title Design Competition aims to discover the best in contemporary title sequence design.

Eligibility for the Title Design Competition is open to any Film, Television, Conference Title, Student Project Title, or Video Game title sequence completed in 2017 or later. The title sequence can stand alone, and does not have to be related to a feature or short film submitted to the festival. All title sequence submissions must be less than 10 minutes in length.

SXSW requires all title sequences to be submitted via url link. If you change this link or any of your login information prior to March 2019 without contacting SXSW your title may become ineligible for consideration.

  • Your link must be to a secure, online version of your project via an external site (i.e. your own website, Vimeo, etc.)
  • Your link must be working before you complete your submission application
  • Your link must be available through March 2019

Please take a moment to read the Film Submissions FAQ for answers to common application questions.

You will receive a confirmation email from SXSW within 48 hours of your submission. This email will confirm that your film has been submitted correctly. If you do not receive this letter within 48 hours, you should follow up by email to ensure your film has been submitted properly and is under consideration.

  • Final Deadline: Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:59pm PT
