Want to participate in the 2018 SXSW Film Festival? If you’ve got a pilot or first season content (including the pilot) to submit, you’re in the right place.
You are filling out an EPISODIC application for the WORLD PREMIERE/SERIES PREMIERE of your episodic content.
SXSW does not accept trailers or rough assemblies, but will accept work-in-progress cuts (picture lock with temp sound, color, etc.) Please be aware SXSW will NOT screen multiple updates/versions of your pilot/series for programming consideration. Please submit your application when you are ready to send your project in the most complete and finished form possible.
WE WILL ONLY SCREEN THE FIRST CUT SUBMITTED.
SXSW REQUIRES ALL EPISODIC CONTENT BE SUBMITTED VIA URL LINK. IF YOU CHANGE THIS LINK OR ANY OF YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION PRIOR TO MARCH 2018 WITHOUT CONTACTING SXSW YOUR ENTRY MAY BECOME INELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.
- Your link must be to a secure, online version of your pilot/series via an external site (i.e. your own website, Vimeo, etc.)
- Your link must be working BEFORE you complete your submission application
- Your link must be available through March 2018
Within 48 hours of submitting you will receive a confirmation email from SXSW. THAT CONFIRMATION EMAIL WILL CONFIRM YOUR PROJECT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED PROPERLY. If you do not receive this letter within 48 hours, you should follow up by email to ensure your project has been submitted properly and is under consideration.
To keep important SXSW emails from landing in your spam folder it's a good idea to add the following address to your contact list: firstname.lastname@example.org.
All applicants will be informed of the status of their project no later than Friday, February 9, 2018.
Please note: Accepted projects will only be screened on DCP or 35mm.
