Want to participate in the 2019 SXSW Film Festival? If you’ve got a pilot or first season content (including the pilot) to submit, you’re in the right place.
You are filling out an Episodic application for a Pilot or First Season content (including the pilot) of your episodic project.
Please take a moment to read the Film Submissions FAQ for answers to common application questions.
SXSW does not accept trailers or rough assemblies, but will accept work-in-progress cuts (picture lock with temp sound, color, etc.) Please be aware SXSW will not screen multiple updates/versions of your pilot/series for programming consideration. Please submit your application when you are ready to send your project in the most complete and finished form possible.
We will only screen the first cut submitted.
SXSW requires all episodic content be submitted via URL link. If you change this link or any of your login information prior to March 2019 without contacting SXSW, your entry may become ineligible for consideration.
- Your link must be to a secure, online version of your pilot/series via an external site (i.e. your own website, Vimeo, etc.)
- Your link must be working before you complete your submission application
- Your link must be available through March 2019
For more information, see below in the Project URL Link section of the application.
You will receive a confirmation email from SXSW within 48 hours of your submission. This email will confirm that your film has been submitted correctly. If you do not receive this letter within 48 hours, you should follow up by email to ensure your film has been submitted properly and is under consideration.
To keep important SXSW emails from landing in your spam folder, add the following address to your contact list: email@example.com.
All applicants will be informed of the status of their project no later than Friday, February 8, 2019.
Please note: Accepted projects will only be screened on DCP or 35mm.
